AFTER THE STORM..

After the storm the sun came out just as it was beginning to go down. It looked like someone had turned on a giant spotlight. The wind was fierce today and we had many warnings and watches. Odd for October in Michigan. They are calling it the second most powerful storm ever to hit this part of the country. My head hurt as I got up this morning with such pressure I had never felt before. I turned on the tv news and they reported that the barometric pressure was lower than it had ever been.  WOW! The winds so high it was breaking records all across the country.. here in Michigan with
all the lakeshore we have it was quite spectacular.

Hmmm 26 foot waves.. now that I gotta see!  Here is a picture posted on the weather blog I visit.. I guess  bigger ones will be posted tomorrow.

As the sun sets, clouds are racing across the evening sky. Tomorrow it may not rain, but we will remember the wind that brought  down the leaves from the trees and the crisp autumn air that followed it.Fall in Michigan changes minute by minute, you never know what you are going to get. You have to keep track of things to know what kind of coat to wear and if you will need an umbrella or shovel by the end of the day. It was a good thing that yesterday I went and pulled all my leaves the front of our yard. Now they are just blowing down the street to parts unknown and I won't have to worry about the city picking them up.  Well I guess it was going to happen sooner or later..  the token picture of leaves from me...and the last(?) picture of the bare trees 2010.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

what a great pic of the water, hope you can find more for tomorrow. The sky in the pics you took is very eerie. Glad you are doing well and have no damage from the storm.

I hope this dies down before it gets here :(
I missed seeing the leaves this year,so sad to see them gone..

This weather has been rather frightening. A small city about 20 miles from here had straight line winds of 70 mph today which downed trees and left the city without power. Lowest barometric pressure since the blizzard of 1978 is what our weatherman said.

I would love to sit on the shorline and watch the waves. As long as the wind doesn't blow me in that is :) The record for barometric pressure was broken here too and it's crazy windy here again today

Sis..what was your pressure reading? Curious.

You're lucky to have seen the sun. It hasn't shown it's face here since Friday. That was a wild day and night, but now all we have to deal with is high water. Great pictures of the last pretties of fall.

carol,
I was there in the beach 71 mile an hour winds at sauble lighthouse. I tried to finish raking the leaves but wind was in the wrong direction...oh well later rt

The 27 foot waves are in upper pennisula. Waves here are 21 feet. I walked downtown or I should say blew downtown. Coming back was a little harder. I thought I'd comment instead of email...:)

Wow! Those waves are really incredible. I would have loved to have been there to make my own picture. Been to Lake Michigan many times and have never seen anything like that. Thanks for posting.

That wind sure was awful. Damaged the roof on my grandson's school so they have a few days off while it's being repaired.

Looks like y'all had some fun. It was quite windy down here too. Loving the dry air w/o humidity... not loving the breeze!
